that there were kitties and chickens at the beach, I would have moved here sooner!!!!
For realsies!!!
So, at North Hollywood Beach, there is lots of vegetation, and there's all these cats that live there. And they are well fed, and they look pretty healthy. They just lounge in the brush, or on this one driveway, or under the fence partially in the bike lane. And then there were chickens freely roaming by the bush in this one corner. Chickens!!! There are lots of signs around there about no pets allowed and it is unlawful to abandon pets there. So here's the website about them: cats So, actually when you read about them it's very sad. The first one or two cats were dumped there, started reproducing, and then others were dumped there too. I'm not sure if that's the same case with the chickens, as they aren't mentioned.
Cats and chickens at the beach. Now I've seen everything.
I wonder if Stinksy would rather live at the beach. I know The Fuzz wouldn't do well there. But Stinksy, he really loves us, but he does like to interact with some cats. Like in the old apartment in San Diego. The cats next door looked like norwegian forest cats, or some fancy long haired cat. The neighbor got a security gate, and she took to leaving the inside door open during the day. The cats just stood there looking outside. Stinky would sometimes sneak out when we opened our door. Once he discovered the other cats, all he wanted to do was go sit on the landing sniffing them through the door. The big male cat first would hiss at him, and then got used to him. The other cat, a pretty girl cat, came to be Stinky's girlfriend. Well, we didn't tell the neighbor that. But he really just wanted to go into that apartment and be with them instead of our apartment. I don't think the neighbor liked him sitting there at the door looking in. But she never said anything, so we let him. He rarely tried to go down the stairs. He was very content to just sit looking at his girlfriend.
Kitty love. Isn't it sweet?
Here's the page if you feel like donating to the kitties on the beach cause: donate
No, I'm not affiliated with the group. But it's definitely one of the groups that I would like to be a part of. Who would just dump their cat off somewhere?
